A vertical machining center is mainly composed of a grinding wheel headstock, headstock, bed, worktable, and tailstock during production. The bed of the vertical machining center adopts large-diameter holes and reinforced ribs. After long-term use, the machine tool exhibits good static and dynamic stiffness. The worktable of the vertical machining center can be divided into upper and lower worktable grinding conical surfaces. The bed and worktable guides use plastic guides with low friction coefficients. The worktable is directly driven by a servo motor and ball screw, ensuring smooth and reliable movement. The grinding wheel spindle system has high rotational accuracy and strong rigidity. The linear velocity of the grinding wheel can reach 60 m/s; the linear velocity of the CBN grinding wheel can reach 80 m/s.
Working principle of the vertical lathe tool magazine: The cutting tools are pre-installed on the tool holder, and then the tool holder is pressed onto the tool holder radial position in sequence. When a tool change is needed, the CNC system issues a command to drive the servo motor, and the backlash gear drives the large gear to rotate to the corresponding angle, so that the corresponding tool rotates to the tool change position. At this time, the vertical tool holder enters the tool change position, the tool holder is removed, and it returns to the workpiece position to continue processing the next operation. The rotational movement of the grinding wheel in the vertical machining center generally does not require speed regulation and can be driven by a three-phase asynchronous motor, requiring only unidirectional rotation. When the capacity is large, Y-Δ reduced-voltage starting can be used. To ensure processing accuracy, smooth operation, and minimal workpiece inertia and impact during the reversal of the reciprocating motion of the worktable, hydraulic transmission is used to achieve the reciprocating motion of the worktable and the lateral feed of the grinding wheel box.
