CNC lathe manufacturer: Advantages of using slant-bed CNC lathes
Release Time:

Angled bed CNC lathes have a bed guide surface angled to the horizontal plane, allowing chips to slide down the slope during machining, reducing wear on the guideways and saddle moving surfaces due to accumulation. The heat from the chips causes changes in the chips and bed accuracy; the lower part of the bed is generally not grooved to improve bed rigidity. This bed design also facilitates the installation of a fully enclosed inclined stainless steel protective cover, ensuring smooth chip removal and an aesthetically pleasing appearance. This type of machine structure has become the choice of professional machine tool manufacturers both domestically and internationally.
In terms of cutting performance, the cross-sectional area of an angled bed CNC lathe is often larger than that of a flat bed lathe of the same specifications, meaning it has stronger bending and torsional resistance.
Regarding machine tool machining accuracy, the layout of an angled bed CNC lathe is different. It can directly affect the clearance of the ball screw in the X direction; gravity directly affects the axial direction of the screw to ensure backlash during transmission.
During cutting, the tool of an angled bed CNC machine is often located diagonally above the workpiece. The cutting force is consistent with the gravity formed by the main spindle and workpiece, so the main spindle operation is more stable and less prone to cutting vibrations.
In terms of automation, angled bed CNC lathes will add milling power heads, automatic feeding machines, or robotic arms, automatically loading materials, completing all construction procedures of the workpiece with one clamping, automatically descending, and automatically removing chips, thus developing into a fully automatic CNC machine requiring no human management.
With the development of CNC lathe manufacturing technology, angled bed CNC lathes have been developed. They feature good rigidity, high spindle accuracy, high-speed reliable feed, computer-aided appearance design, and high-speed CNC systems. Angled bed CNC lathes also have a moving saddle above the bed, but unlike traditional bed shapes, traditional beds are supported at both ends with the middle lower part suspended. This results in poor rigidity, especially when most chips splash onto the machine. On the horizontal guideway of the flat bed, chip removal is not smooth, easily causing wear on the guideways and saddle.
